What Is Next For The Cloud Career Mentor?

I have 2 announcements about the future of the cloud career mentor channel and I'd love your thoughts on them so stick around till the end so you can give your input

when I started cloud career mentor about a year ago my aim was to inspire, educate and motivate the next generation of cloud professionals to achieve their goals.

For some that goal is to get their first cloud job, for others it's to progress in their careers and become more senior engineers or solution architects

In that year we have achieved a lot with this channel

I've created high quality video on strategies to break into the cloud industry, you can check out the playlist called... How To Get Your First Cloud Job

I have also interviewed inspiring cloud professionals and solution architects who have shared their best strategies on succeeding in the cloud industry, if you want to watch those then check out the playlist on the channel called Cloud Career conversations

People loved these videos but after receiving a lot of requests, especially from cloud beginners, to provide a deeper level of support to help them secure their first cloud job, I created a program called the Cloud Career Acceleration Program.

This program is a combination of self study, private community and mentorship that has helped dozens of people build their cloud skills and secure jobs all over the world.

Creating the YouTube videos and supporting my students has been really rewarding but also takes a lot of time and energy as I am still a Senior Solutions Architect.

This meant I had a decision to make, do i continue growing the channel and helping cloud professionals achieve their goals?

Or do I focus on my own career and completely close down Cloud Career Mentor?

Initially, I was leaning towards shutting the channel down and simply focussing on my own career

But then I thought of all the people the channel is helping

I thought of all the students who went through the program and then went on to secure good quality cloud jobs

I thought of all the terrible advice I see from so called tech influencers

And I thought, No, I can't do that to you.

My realisation was that I really cared about the cloud industry and helping you succeed in your career because being a solution architect has changed my life in so many different ways

This brings us to the first announcement, which is that up until now my content has been focused on cloud beginners and providing the information you need to get that first cloud job.

Don't worry, I'm still going to be making that content, but a lot of you are also interested in becoming solution architects so I am going to be releasing more videos on what steps you can take to become a solution architect, what frameworks you need to know and what skills you need to develop.

My aim with the content on this channel is to be the best resource for creating a successful cloud career and it takes a lot of work to research, write, record and edit this content.

This leads on to my second announcement. I have brought on another host to help create content for the channel.

She is an amazing presenter and will really help bring the topics we talk about to life and I'm so excited for you to see her work.

Don't worry, I'm not going away as I will still keep creating content for the channel and interviewing the guests we have on, but now I have an extra person to help create more videos so we can give you more content!

We have already recorded some videos and trust me the quality is high!
